Roping Horse, Wyoming

Roping Horse | Wyoming

I've been in Wyoming for the past two weeks, which is why things have been a little slow around here. I expect to be back on top of things next week. In the mean time I'll leave you with a few out takes of some amazing roping horses in digital conversions intended to explore the qualities of a few black and white films. ( All shot last week with a 400mm lens on the Canon 1Ds Mkiii except the the above image which was captured with a Nikon D700 with 14-24 f/2.8 lens )

Welcome back!

You've done a fabulous job as usual.

In the last photo it looks like the Cowboy's twin brother is in the bg. And I see a tripod in the bg. Are you a purist or do you turn to Photoshop at times?

Thanks Craig. The tripod is holding an electronic eye that is used in team roping to time the participants as well as to make sure the ropers give the steer the required head start. I wouldn't necessarily call myself a purist (that's a long discussion for another day), but since it belongs in the arena, I don't feel right removing it.
