I just received a handful of advance copies of a print of my Pasta Cutter (or Tagliapasta as they say in the old country) image from the Foto:Box collection released by the Italian publisher Corriere della Sera. (Yes that's right, Corriere della Sera, the former employer of Eugenio Montale and Italo Calvino).

They are releasing it in installments a little like the old safari cards I used to get as a kid. My image is in auspicious company: among the 300 photographs in the collection are works by Man Ray, Robert Capa, Steve McCurry, Richard Avedon, and Henri Cartier-Bresson. I should be getting the entire set once the last installment is released. They did a nice job; the printing is lovely, as one would expect from the Rizzoli group. The images are printed on heavy, coated card stock. It is my understanding that will only be released in Italy, so I have no idea how one would go about acquiring the box set from the United States, but you may be able to order it directly from www.corriere.it.

The image is originally shot with Polaroid's Polagraph instant slide film, which is sadly no longer available.
